Terms and Conditions of Photo Competition
Eligibility: The competition is open to all members of the public. It is not open to members of the Express Team, or anyone involved in judging the entries.
Theme: The theme for the competition is City Road. All entries should adhere to shots of City Road, Cardiff in any image used as an entry in this competition. Images can be taken at any time of the day or night, in any weather condition. Use your imagination! The images can be enhanced digitally but not manipulated in any way.
Submission: All entries should be made via the email set up for the competition. However, if a digital entry is not possible, please call in to see us at Express Imaging, 172-174 City Road and we will receive your entry manually. All entries must contain the entry image and be in .jpg, .png or .tiff format.
Number of Entries: The maximum number of entries allowed per participant is one.
Ownership: All images remain the property of the participant.
Permissions and Releases: If the photos contain recognisable individuals or private property, it is the participants responsibility to obtain the permissions or releases for their use in the competition.
Deadline: The competition will close at midnight on 31st May 2024. Any entries received after this point will not be considered.
Judging Process: The entries will be judged solely by Cardiff Camera Club. They will be judging the quality, imagination, and appropriateness of the image to the theme.
Prizes: There will be three prizes. First – £50 voucher, Second – £30 voucher and Third – £20 voucher. Vouchers can be exchanged for any photographic goods or services provided by Express Imaging and must be spent in one transaction. In addition, each winner will receive a framed photograph of their entry. All vouchers can only be exchanged Express Imaging, City Road, Cardiff.
Announcement of Winners: Winners will be announced at a presentation evening on the 18th June 2024 at the Terra Nova on Roath Park Lake at 7pm. All participants are very welcome to join us for the evening. In addition, all winners will be announced on our website and social media pages.
Publication and Promotion: Winning entries may be used for promotional purposes exclusively by Express Imaging, including displaying the images on our website and social media.
Disqualification Criteria: Any entries received after the deadline of 31st May will not be included with the images sent to Cardiff Camera Club for judging. Please make sure the subject of City Road is adhered to and that the images belong to the person making the entry.
Disclaimers: Every care will be taken to ensure that all entries received before the deadline will be included in the judging process. Express Imaging cannot be held responsible for any damaged files due to technical issues or disputes over ownership.
Amendment and Interpretation: Express Imaging reserves the right to amend the rules or interpret them as necessary. Any changes will be communicated immediately via our website and social media.
Compliance and Fairness: Care has been taken to ensure that the competition complies with relevant laws and regulations, particularly regarding privacy, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
